First, twist the rear plate counterclockwise to remove it from the detector. Align the 2 holes on the rear plate with your ceiling and drill 2 holes 60mm apart. Screw the rear plate onto the ceiling using the provided anchors and screws. Insert 2 AA batteries (1.5V each) into the battery compartment, paying attention to the correct polarity (+/-). Finally, twist the detector clockwise onto the mounted rear plate until secure.
